Is anyone out there going to Celebration V in costume? I'm not a member of the Mandalorian Mercs or the 501st or the Rebel Legion, but I am planning on completing my Mandalorian armor come August. My plans are still up in the air about actually getting there, but better safe than sorry, right?
Anyone else going? If you are, it'd be great to talk about the events or costumes and plans here! It's never too early to get excited about it!

My plans to get to Florida are slowly forming more solidly! My cousin and I are working on our costumes now, and in addition to my Mandalorian armor I'm working on I started another costume. I'm doing a Leia costume from the EU. It's just a plain gray jumpsuit and a pair of knee high boots and a holster. I think to add a lightsaber to it would make people think Jaina instead of Leia. Hopefully the things I ordered for it will come in this week.
On the topic of my armor, I bought a sheet of Sintra plastic to try to make my own fitted armor plates even though I already have some. I just want to try it to see how they come out.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I love to hear them!

I can't make it to Celebration V because i live in Canada! Osik!
Now on my beskar'gam, well...sadly i haven't even started! I have been interested in making my armour for years, but don't know how or where I can make them! I have seen some really cool Beskar designs and would lvoe to make my own...but it does sound awfully expensive.
I will probably contact the Capital City Squad, my local 501st Garrison and see if they have any workshops planned.

Yeah, that does seem like a bit of a distance! Sorry to hear it.
Well, you have the advantage that you're a guy so I've actually heard of people making really nice armor sets using large trash bins. Just cut out a pattern to fit your size and that should work. But there is also ebay! I'd also recommend checking out the Mandalorians Mercs site or the Dented Helmet, they usually have some people willing to offer suggestions.
Though contacting the 501st is also a good way, especially since they are in your area and the help could be more one-on-one.
