The Republic Commando books are arguably one of my favorite series of Star Wars books, and I'm wondering what other people thought about the last Karen Traviss book. I love the whole bit with Darman and his desire to get back to Kad but the fact that he's torn between his sense of duty. Does anyone think that at some point there will be a book that gets Darman back to Mandalore and his son? Are there any other thoughts on the series, or how Darman dealt with Etain's death?

501st 2 is already in the works...but its not going to written by KT! AHHHHH its unthinkable, but its true! I thought Darman's reasons for staying on Coruscant were against his character..why the heck would he want to stay, and be so far from Kad??? Just doesn't make sense...sure he wants to kill Jedi, but why not do it from Mandalore where there is an abundance of Mando's who would gladly help Darman achieve that!

I recently heard that!! so upsetting, not sure if i'd even want to read it!
I'm not sure if it was against Darman's character only because of how distraught he had been after Etain died, but I was upset with Darman for choosing to stay. I was sure Kal raised him better than that! I do feel really bad for Darman in general though, and Kad too. I mean, the whole situation just sucks for both of them. I also hope that Darman doesn't just blindly turn into a Jedi killer, I think that would be almost an insult to Etain's memory. Really the best thing he could do would be to just get away from Coruscant and raise his boy.

Sue Rostoni has just confirmed that Imperial Commando 2 is effectively canceled.

Agreed, Kalira. It's sad to see the fact there won't be any more Republic Commando books, but at least the series won't get butchered along with the rest of Star Wars continuity...

The only thing is it would be nice to have all the loose ends tied up. But your right, if they were to make it they would butcher it.
