'Cuy, ner vode! Hi, to start this I'll put up a little bit about myself. I'm a college student and I have loved Star Wars since I was 10 years old. I started by reading the books, so in a way that was kind of backwards from most people even though I grew up watching the movies with my father. I became interested in Mandalorian culture with the start of the Republic Commando books by Karen Traviss. I think that she really fleshed out the culture by developing the language and ideologies of Mandalorians.
I started this message board because it is very easy to find people who enjoy the warrior aspect of the culture but very few who understand that there is more to it than that. Family is just as important to Mandalorians as fighting. The Resol'nare sums up perfectly the things that are most important to Mandalorians and form the basis for the culture.
Bajur, beskar’gam Ara’nov, aliit Mando’a bal Mand’alor An vencuyan mhi.
Education and armor, Self-defense, our tribe, Our language, our leader All help us survive
Part of what attracted me to the culture was the idea of a fresh start or clean slate- cin vhetin. I don't consider myself to be over the top obsessed with Star Wars or Mandalorians, but I do think that there is a lot to learn and it is a good way to live life in general.
So welcome to everyone who comes and I hope to become friends and aliit with anyone who joins! Please feel free to post a bit about yourself or just say hello.

Su cuy'gar ner vod ! It's great to see that others enjoy Mando'ade and the Star Wars galaxy as much as I do! I assume you are a fan of Karen Traviss' Rep. Commando and Legacy of the Force books...i think her novels are the best Star Wars books out there! She makes the Star Wars galaxy seem so real, and believable! And have you tried the Knights of the Old Republic comic series on the Mandalorian wars? Well written (and the writer of that series is set to pen the upcoming Knight Errant comic series based during the New Sith Wars! Kandosii!) Funny enough my love of Star Wars began when I was 10 as well when I first saw A New Hope! Since then, I have known nothing but Star Wars, pouring over every piece of detail on the Star Wars Expanded universe I can. Annnnd wasted about a decade of my life ;P Re'turcye mhi!

'Cuy! Yes, the Republic Commado books are among my favorite Star Wars books ever. I haven't checked out the comic series only because there are no good comic stores near me, and the few times I can find a comic in a bookstore I end up with only one issue from the middle of a series and I'm lost and confused and end up giving up when i can't find the other issues. I wish that comics were easier to find by me. Yay for impressionable 10 year olds! Even before I started reading the books when I was 10 I pretty much grew up around it by watching the movies with my dad. I remember seeing Episode I in theaters but not having a clue what was going on! And yes, I've used a little over a decade of my own life on Star Wars, but it's worth it!

You'd have to add a lot of pictures of my dog.
And then some from Burn Notice and NCIS and other miscellaneous Star Wars pics. ;D
